The Former Wisley Airfield is a proposed new residential development by Taylor Wimpey for up to 1,730 homes and community facilities on the former Wisley Airfield site in Surrey. The proposals for the site include three distinct neighbourhoods around a community heart, with a 45 hectare country park. The green infrastructure proposals aim to deliver a 20% Biodiversity Net Gain for the site, underpinned by enhancing existing habitats and the creation of new wildlife habitats, including wildflower grassland, wetland and woodland areas - including the planting of over 6,700 trees. Not only will future residents benefit from accessible green space, allotments and sports pitches, but the site is being designed as a walkable neighbourhood with cycle routes, a new bus service, as well as a local centre with a work from home hub, mobility hub, education and health facilities and local shops. A charitable Community Trust will also be established to give residents a say in how their community is run.
